Wake Forest, NC Spring Events at E. Carroll Joyner Park

As spring weather approaches many people begin thinking about the spring and summer events in Wake Forest, NC.  One of our favorite parks, E. Carroll Joyner Park, plays host to many of these great events.  Tripp decided to visit the park this morning to get a glimpse of the park before the sunrise to see it below a beautiful night sky.

Joyner Park is not far from most anywhere in Wake Forest. If parks are important then Joyner Park should be on your list to visit when touring town. Also worth noting is the newest park in the area, Forest Ridge Park(technically a Raleigh Park, but has a Wake Forest address).

Here is a list of the upcoming spring and summer events to look forward to at E. Carroll Joyner Park:

Easter Egg Hunt
Saturday, March 24
E. Carroll Joyner Park, 701 Harris Road 

Wake Forest Parks, Recreation & Cultural Resources will sponsor its annual Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, March 24, at E. Carroll Joyner Park, 701 Harris Road. Event organizers will hide over 10,000 Easter eggs. Kids who discover the rare golden eggs will receive a special prize.

 

Arbor Day Celebration & Tree Seedling Giveaway
Saturday, April 21
E. Carroll Joyner Park, 701 Harris Road

This year Wake Forest will once again host its Arbor Day Celebration and Tree Seedling Giveaway on the same day. Both events – plus an Arbor Day Expo – are scheduled for Saturday, April 22, at E. Carroll Joyner Park, 701 Harris Road. The Arbor Day Expo and Tree Seedling Giveaway will get underway at 11 a.m., while the Arbor Day ceremony is scheduled to begin at noon.

 

Six Sundays in Spring  
April 29 – June 3; 5 – 7 pm
E. Carroll Joyner Park, 701 Harris Road  

Bring the kids, friends, a picnic and a blanket and settle in for some foot-tapping, finger-snapping good times! The 2018 Six Sundays in Spring concert series will take place on consecutive Sundays from April 29 through June 3. Sponsored by Wake Forest ARTS, these free concerts get underway at 5 p.m.

 

Family Movie Nights at Joyner Park
Series begins Saturday, May 26; 8:30 pm
E. Carroll Joyner Park, 701 Harris Road

The Wake Forest Parks, Recreation & Cultural Resources Department will host a free, monthly outdoor movie series from May through August at Joyner Park. The first in the series of Family Movie Nights will take place on Saturday, May 26, at 8:30 pm. Future showings are scheduled for June 30, July 28, and Aug. 11.

National Trails Day
Saturday, June 2; 9 am – 1 pm
E. Carroll Joyner Park, 701 Harris Road

The Town of Wake Forest will celebrate National Trails Day on Saturday, June 2, from 9 am – 1 pm at E. Carroll Joyner Park, 701 Harris Road. The free event will include an Environmental Education Expo featuring interactive environmental education stations. Set up throughout the park, the stations will offer both children and adults a unique opportunity to experience the wonders of nature while learning about the environment. As part of the expo, attendees will have the opportunity to get an up-close look at some of the living things you might encounter on the trails.
